Like what that movie has done to me, Ilayaraja may have the potential to inspire children who are not exposed to the cinema medium. I loved a film called Angels in the outfield in my childhood and when I grew up I realized it was a critically trashed, inspiring film for children. The average side is cinematography and music.Ilayaraja is made precisely for children and their sensitivities. Ilayaraja seems to be Madhav Ramadasan's most hastily written script. Collection of Ilayaraja hits and melodies songs are available for free download. The melodrama began to affect the craft in Apothecary and here it makes it almost difficult for us to sit through. Melvilasam is perhaps the best example on the screen of how good writing can make dialogs that look highly theatrical. The story of Madhav Ramadasan's films was always dramatic. Anil Nair was convincing as the typical bad guy. Deepak Parambol and Gokul Suresh appear as these children's trainers, both of whom struggled to deliver their dialogue.
The two people who have been able to reduce the extensive melodrama in the writing of Madhav Ramadasan have been Guinness Pakru and Harishree Ashokan, and they are the best performers here without a doubt. The delivery of the dialog and even the gestures have this rigidity. Master Adith and Baby Ardhra are the ones who played the siblings ' roles and the director didn't really let them be free to be those characters.
The drama quotient is on the higher side without any real grace to his credit and with the climax kind of being able to generate some kind of empathy towards the father character Ilayaraja is just an all right inspiring film. This film, developed as an underdog story, has too much cliché drama that reduces it to a mere preaching. It's loud, it's predictable, and if this movie has to move you emotionally, you'll have to be completely alien to these kinds of stories.
The best way to look at Ilayaraja's new Madhav Ramadasan movie would be to see it as a movie for a kid.
